And the inimitable Autumn Adamme of Dark Garden Unique Corsetryhas spent decades successfully figuring out how to do just that! Autumn comes to Britex Fabrics for two events not to be missed: Tricky Textile Tips on Thursday, October 4 (6-8 PM), and Tricky Textile Tips 2, Pattern Matching & Advanced Tips & Tricks on Saturday, October 6 (10:30-12:30).  Tricky Textile Tips on Thursday, October 4 (6-8 PM) is a lecture-format talk on the Main Floor of Britex, featuring Autumn's insight, advice and various demonstrations with our French lace, silk chiffon, silk charmeuse, 4-ply crepe back silk satin, and other slippery textiles that can make even the most experienced sewists anxious. Wine and nibbles will be provided (to help with the anxiety!), and you'll be able to purchase any and all of these beautiful fabrics at the end of the class.  Autumn Adamme is the founder and lead designer at Dark Garden Unique Corsetry. She began sewing at the age of 8 and hasn’t stopped. Her corsets and special occasion attire are world renowned for their quality and attention to detail. She is credited as being a leader of the modern corsetry movement and developed many techniques that are now de rigeur. She continues to have a hand in garment creation at Dark Garden and loves sharing her knowledge of and passion for fine fabrics and the techniques that make working with them pleasurable rather than terrifying.
