Smuin Contemporary Ballet: Dance Series 01
One of the city's true cultural jewels, Smuin Contemporary Ballet continues to shine brightly at the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre, where you'll no doubt be dazzled by their latest cutting-edge works. Dance Series 01 kicks off Smuin's 25th anniversary with Blue Until June. A hit when it made its world premiere last spring, Trey McIntyre's stirring piece is set to the music of Etta James. The program also features Michael Smuin's Schubert Scherzo and The Eternal Idol, a romantic pas de deux inspired by Rodin's iconic sculptures. The evening comes to a close with Nicole Haskins' Merely Players, Ben Needham-Wood's Reflections and Rex Wheeler's Sinfonietta.
