Samsara is a non-narrative 2011 documentary by director Ron Fricke and the sequel to his seminal film Baraka. Shot over 5 years on luscious 70-mm in countries all over the world, Samsara depicts the cycles of creation and destruction throughout human societies and is hailed as "a hypnotic and haunting experience...enlightening and life-changing". Yemanjo gives this unforgettable film new life with an original soundtrack combining live looping, multiple instruments and DJ beat science. Yemanjo is a DJ, singer, multi-instrumentalist and massage therapist. He began combining live music with film in New York City in 2015, supplying live soundtracks to both Baraka and its sequel, Samsara. His original music combines elements of South American shamanic music with various Afro-Latin rhythms and electronic beats. He also regularly DJs for Ecstatic Dance and hosts cacao ceremonies in the Bay Area and beyond.
