Whether you’re just in for a great night or looking for a love to last your life, put your devices down and LOOK UP! LOOK UP is a new performance series at Martuni's (one of San Francisco’s TOP SEVEN PLACES FOR A FIRST DATE) every third Thursday of the month to tell super compelling stories all while inviting everyone in the room to connect with one another.  Think of it as a conversation with 70 new best friends, as the performers absorb all of the awkwardness of a first meeting (and Martuni's absorbs the cost of the first LOOK UP signature-cocktail)! We understand how uncomfortable meeting new people IRL can be, but we also know that all relationships have to start somewhere.  So in this era of apps, texts, tweets and notifications galore, it is our mission to expand a tunnel-visioned world through juicy true stories, important concepts, incredible performers, and a warm inviting environment in a dark-as-hell cabaret lounge.  We’re equal opportunity yentas - we don’t care if you’re here for the cocktails, the new or old friends, the future ex-husbands, or the music. Just show up, share a drink, have a laugh, see a show, be yourself and look up! But don't forget, this is a device-free zone.  So if you're caught with your phone you'll have to wear the sombrero of shame!  A significant portion of the proceeds will go toward local nonprofit efforts connecting our world, themed to the evening’s performance as our ongoing commitment to lift up the community. September's theme will be WHITE NOISE / BLACK SILENCE: An exploration of chaos in the universe and the uncomfortable beauty of stillness. The hum of cicadas, the glow of lightning bugs, and the glistening of skin in humid air all paint a vivid picture of summer in the South. The buzz of vibrate mode, the brightness of a room full of screens, and the interconnectedness of current events reveal an equally as tangible reality of the modern era. This program aims to meet technological aficionados
