This talk will begin at 5:00 pm. Doors will open at 4:30. Please arrive a bit early to check in and find a seat! Join us for a behind the scenes talk with Tung Chiang, Director of the Heath Clay Studio in San Francisco, to learn how Design Series Six: Growing Small came to life. Our annual Design Series show is the result of a year-long exploration into a single subject by Tung, and it's our time to experiment with evolving shapes, glazes, designs, and the making process. RSVP soon — spots fill up quickly! This year's show is Growing Small: over 125 mini clay collectibles, cast and formed by hand, for treasuring in the hand. Up-close, intimate, tactile — each is miniature and gigantic — embodying personality that far outweighs its size. Extracted from molds in basic form, pieces are hand-altered and individually enhanced, resulting in a collection of related, yet one-of-a-kind objects that celebrate the skillful art of mold-making, while questioning the boundary between one-offs and editions.  After the talk, join us for the opening reception from 6 to 8 pm to see (and shop) Tung’s new work; you can RSVP for that here.
